Hello folks,

time for a new dose of your favourite EIBON medicines.
This time the candy is a brand new, highly conceptual OLHON album.

[]

OLHON
"Underwater passage" cd
Catalogue number: Ohl075
Format: cd
Label: EIBON RECORDS
Tracks: 4
Length: 42'43
File under: Dark ambient
Release date: 21/01/2008
Format: Digipack

Field-recordings maestros OLHON are back with a new stunning album.
"Underwater passage" is based upon underwater recordings taken in 2006
by Zairo (WHERE), then treated by Massimo Magrini (of BAD SECTOR fame).
These recordings were taken using special sensing microphones attached
to an abandoned telephone cable running on the sea bottom at -40 m.;
they were then processed with particular demodulating treatments, resulting
in a complex and rich ambiental monument. Strange clicks, impulses, a
load of movements. Definitely far from the usual concept of dark ambient =
low-rumbling drones only, "Underwater passage" shimmers with cutting
mid/high frequencies bursts. A very challenging listening, trust me.
Cd comes in white-trayed, UV-varnished digipack. Price is set at 14 euros,
postage paid everywhere.

Taint “Sex Sick” CD on The Ajna Offensive
A fan review December 2007
There are very few bands out there that are able to communicate their content through sound like Taint. “Sex Sick” is the sound of disgusting reality – a depressing reality many don’t ever see or want to see. While listening to “Sex Sick,” I envision the hooker in the hospital waiting room waiting for her AIDS test and wondering if she can continue working to feed her three kids or the sight of a woman closing their eyes tightly trying to forget what is happening to them in the back of a john’s car right around the corner from where she grew up. I hear the sound of grunts and squeals from people who get turned on about the uncertainty of their partner’s STD status and the sound of crying coming from the next room where her child waits. Just when you find yourself in an uncomfortable place, you’re forcefully pulled back into your seat by ear-piercing feedback, low-end noise and a voice narrating the scene. This record is ugly and full of vile feedback. There is something perverted and disgusting about the squealing feedback. The overall sound is relentless and completely devoid of fanciness or professional studio treatments in keeping with the grittiness of early Whitehouse and Broken Flag releases. It is a sound only Taint can create with the use of the most ugly, deformed, mean-spirited noise imaginable, which compliments the subject matter, samples and vocals perfectly. The sound varies, but Taint doesn’t bring in a single sound that could be considered neat or cool. Every sound is chosen for its brutal atmosphere. Taint uses a lot of tortured feedback accompanied by well placed, low-end and mid-range noise. The album does not lack in diversity as each track has its own personality. It’s very difficult to listen to “Sex Sick” without your imagination wandering into the streets and bedrooms of people you wish didn’t exist. Unlike other Taint albums, there is something even bleaker about “Sex Sick.” Like a freak show, you’ll find yourself wanting to hear these sounds again and again wishing to be taken back into those places only Taint can colorfully bring to life. To sum it all up, “Sex Sick” is one ugly and mean-spirited record.

GELSOMINA + NO XIVIC : Furnace CD
http://www.someplaceelse.net/releases/?id=specd07044

“Introduced by a metallic guitar drone Gelsomina and No Xivic will lead you inside the belly of this grinding lightly flammable machine. The guitar melody is subtle while the buzzing guitar drones grow stronger into a dark throbbing tarry blanket. The sound is metallic and the heat is intensifying as these granulizing drones will come over with an overwhelming scorching power like burning kerosine. This track comes to you with force and is taking you at the throat, burning you from inside. Furnace takes no less than twenty five minutes and is a pure power noise assault of hypnotizing quality…” (Gothtronic)

“Containing three tracks, the album opens with a collaboration between the two projects: The track titled Furnace runs approx. 25 minutes and has much focus on guitar-based noise and expressive buzz-drones. Second track titled Everlasting Fire demonstrates the harsh style of Gelsomina in full throttle. “This is the way youth get to know Satan and hell” the description says on the cover-sleeve and yes! — This work sound like the symphony of hell — impressive. Equally to aforementioned track, the third and final track on the album, titled Greater Suffering, wasn’t made to make the listener feel comfortable during the listening process. Also belonging to the harsh expression, the track is stylishly more subdued and introvert compared to the expressively extrovert contribution by No Xivic. Towards the end the hostile noise drones are overtaken by atmospheric, almost musical drones ending up with a very beautiful finale to this particular track as well as to the album as a whole.” (Vital Weekly)

BARDOSENETICCUBE + NOISES OF RUSSIA : New Orthodox Line CD
http://www.someplaceelse.net/releases/?id=specd07043

“These two projects drags you through all fields of industrial music from calming ambient to harsh noise, from sacral soudscapes of orthodox choirs and church bells towards the punishing end of the sonic spectrum. It is all there nicely build up in a powerful and intense piece of music. Considering the choirs you might think about Raison d’ Etre and Current 93 and has a dark oppressive feeling which is intensified by throbbing drones and howling feedback. It squeaks and clatters while drones are draining the bones while deep layers of low frequencies piercing the atmosphere.” (Gothtronic)

“As for every respectful suite also New orthodox Line has different moments which time to time lead to an explosive ending. Like sea waves the sound waves gathers finding their end into a disrupting blast. This cyclic ritual make the music turns into something now noisy and then experimental with choirs and treated sounds.” (Chain DLK)

“This album titled New Orthodox Line is a strange beast even in the noise scene with the inclusion of sacral soundscapes consisting of church bells and orthodox choirs swirling in the storm of abrasive noise drones. Consisting of one lengthy track of 47 minutes the expression is impressive with a nice emotional approach to sonic aggression. Intense.” (Vital Weekly)

DROUGHTER
YOUNG HARM C12 (ltd 50)

Harsh noise from this prolific san francisco ripper. No frills, no experimenting or twiddling. Yellow cassettes.
From Blastbeats for Freedom: "This is pure and simple harsh noise made by pure and simple means and done in a very effective way. I'm talking contact mics, distortion pedals, feedback, a tape recorder, and 12 minutes to kill. I'm totally into the burly as fuck lo-fi production too. Both sides are dominated by overpowering low-mids and sloppy mush but they still manage to sound huge and oppressive"

THE SLEEP SESSIONS AND CAUCHY RIEMANN
(SPLIT)
THE ENDLESS WINTER C20 (ltd 50)

Side A brings us some high frequency static warmed pedal noise coming straight from Poland courtesy of The Sleep Sessions. Side B brings Cauchy Riemann, with an overwhelming, crushing modular synth wall. Clear cassettes.

$4 EACH, ppd. $6 each foreign.
